Yemenis set for mass anti-govt. ralliesReviewed by مدیریت پرچم های سیاه شرق on Jun 17Rating:

The protesters are demanding the formation of a transitional council which has so far been refused by Yemen’s acting President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Yemen’s Ali Abdullah Saleh currently remains in Saudi Arabia, where he is allegedly being treated for injuries he sustained in an attack on the Yemeni presidential palace on Friday, June 3.

Meanwhile on Thursday, defected Yemeni troops supporting anti-regime protests against Saleh attacked a military base in Hajja, in northern Yemen, killing one soldier.

Anti-regime protests, which also call for an end to corruption and unemployment, have been held in Yemen’s major cities since late January.

Hundreds of Yemenis have been killed and many more injured in a brutal crackdown on popular anti-government protesters by forces of the US-backed regime
