The remains of the 613 victims are set to be buried in Potocari near Srebrenica on Monday, AP reported.

The bodies were recovered from mass graves during the past year and identified through DNA tests.

The dead were among more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys from the eastern enclave that were killed by Bosnian Serbs.

They were systematically killed by Serb forces in the climax to the 1992-95 massacre of Muslims in Bosnia, following the breakup of the former Yugoslavia.

The ensuing conflict involving Serbs, Croatians and Bosnians eventually left 100,000 people, mostly Bosnian Muslims, dead.

This year’s commemorations are special due to the capture of former Bosnian Serb Army Chief Ratko Mladic, who has been charged with orchestrating the execution of 8,000 Muslim men and boys and now standing trial on genocide charges at The Hague.

The 69-year-old was arrested in Serbia on May 26 after remaining at large for 16 years. He made his first court appearance at The Hague on June 3.
