Thousands of Yemeni protesters once again took to the streets of Sana’a and the southern city of Taizz on Sunday calling for downfall of Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The regime forces attacked people in the southern part of the Liberation Square in Sana’a, killing one and injuring six others, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Protesters say the United Nations has not taken enough action because regime attacks have been increased.

They say they will remain in the streets until their demands are met.

On Saturday, clashes between pro-revolutionary army defectors and Saleh loyalists left at least 20 people killed in the Hassaba neighborhood of Sana’a.

The fighting broke out after tens of thousands of people took to the streets of the capital to demand the resignation of Saleh.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on Friday, calling on the Yemeni dictator to immediately accept a power transfer deal.

People in the impoverished Arab state have turned out for regular protests in major cities since January, calling for an end to corruption and unemployment and demanding the ouster of Saleh.

The protesters also say Saleh should be tried for the crimes he has committed against the people of Yemen during the revolution.
