According to Israeli media outlets, the mass protests are set to take place on Saturday in at least 50 cities across the Palestinian land occupied by the Israeli regime.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials have decided to shut down train services to Tel Aviv ahead of the march in an attempt to block thousands of protesters from reaching their destinations for the rallies.

Thousands of Israelis staged protest marches in the city of East al-Quds (Jerusalem) last Saturday, with similar anti-regime demonstrations held in other cities.

Anti-regime protests erupted in Israel in mid-July as activists began setting up tents in Tel Aviv to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s economic and social policies.

The demonstrators are also opposed to Israel’s illegal settlement expansions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Israeli regime occupied East al-Quds alongside the West Bank in 1967 and later annexed both territories. The international community has refused to recognize either of the moves.

In September 2010, the Tel Aviv regime resumed the expansion of settlements in Palestine after a 10-month partial freeze, prompting the Palestinian Authority (PA) leaders to break off the US-sponsored talks with the regime that had resumed after a lengthy stalemate.
