آغا محمد خان قاجار، قرآنى به خط میرزاى تبریزى که خطاط معروفى بود با جلدى که به یاقوت و الماس و زبرجد و سایر سنگهاى گرانبها تزئین شده بود به رسم هدیه براى بحرالعلوم ارسال کرد وقتى قرآن را آوردند که به ایشان برسانند درب منزل را زدند با کوبیدن حلقه در بحرالعلوم خود پشت درب منزل آمد و در را باز نمود، در حالى که دست مبارک آن بزرگمرد بالا و قلم به دستشان بود. خطاب به آنان فرمود
