Yemen’s presidential palace attacked
Anti-government forces have attacked the presidential palace in the Yemeni capital, injuring a number of top government officials.

Witnesses say the compound was hit by at least two shells on Friday and that heavy clashes are taking place inside the presidential palace in Sana’a.

The ruling party spokesman told AFP that Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Raiee were among those wounded as shelling hit a mosque in the presidential compound.

Four presidential guards were also killed in the attack.

The embattled Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his sons have reportedly left the capital.
