Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that the Leader’s visit Tuesday “has global aspects and can create a new move in the seminaries.”

In a press conference Sunday, Larijani described the visit as a great blessing for Iranians as well as the Muslim world.

He noted that people in Qom had a pivotal role in the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran against the dictatorial regime of former Shah.

The speaker also added the holy city, which is home to prominent seminary schools and the shirne of Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her), has historical and significance as a center for the Islamic school of thought.

Meanwhile, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi predicted a warm welcome in the city for the Leader.

Addressing a gathering of seminary students in Qom on Sunday, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said: “The Leader’s visit would be a source of blessing for the province.”

Furthermore, the Students Organizations of Qom Province issued a joint statement welcoming the arrival of Ayatollah Khamenei.
